The Yobe State Police Command has announced the detention of a man, Yunus Isa, in connection with the alleged murder of his business partner, Lawan Adamu.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Spokesman of the command, Dungus Abdulkarim, to newsmen on Thursday.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Adamu’s body was found on September 15, 2024 with deep throat cut and stab wounds at Nayinawa area of Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.
Abdulkarim, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said credible intelligence led to the arrest of the prime suspect in the case at Shago Tara, near Nayinawa.

He said: “Investigation revealed that Lawan Adamu was his employer and business partner in the engine oil trade.
“He (the suspect) borrowed N500,000 from Adamu last year with a profit-sharing agreement.
“However, when he failed to meet the agreement terms, the deceased demanded repayment.
“Isa callously murdered Adamu to avoid repaying the debt, killing him in cold blood.”
The Police Public Relations Officer revealed that the swift resolution of the case demonstrated the command’s commitment towards ensuring justice and public safety.
Abdulkarim said the suspect would soon be charged to court.
