The League Management Company has relocated Kano Pillars football club from Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna to Muhammad Dikko Stadium, Katsina State.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Media Officer of the club, Rilwan Malikawa, on Friday in Kano.
According to Malikawa, the management of the club received the directives from the LMC on Friday that they have been relocated to Katsina with immediate effect.
The Media Officer said that the letter of relocation was signed by the Chief Operating Officer of the LMC, Alhaji Salihu Abubakar.
Malikawa quoted LMC as citing security challenges and encroachment unto the playing field during the match with Rivers United football club on Match Day 16 in Kaduna as the reason for the relocation.
The statement said henceforth Kano Pillars Football Club would play their home matches at the Muhammad Dikko Stadium, Katsina, starting with a Match Day 17 against Nasarawa United Football Club on Sunday.
Malikawa thanked the Kaduna State Football Association, Kaduna Sports Writers Association of Nigeria and entire football family of Kaduna State for the support and cooperation given to them during their stay in Kaduna.
The Media Officer expressed confidence that they would get maximum support and cooperation from the government and good people of Katsina State for the success of the club throughout their stay in Katsina.
