Liverpool have agreed to cough out the whopping sum of N2 billion (£9 million) to sign MK Dons star, Dele Alli, dubbed the “English Messi”.
The player has been tracked by some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs after turning in some impressive displays, including the 4-0 mauling of Manchester United in the League Cup.
Anfield boss, Brendan Rodgers, is a known admirer and has been tracking the young midfielder for several months along with scouts of the other English sides.
Liverpool have now all but agreed a £9 million fee that includes add-ons and will loan the player back to Dons for the remainder of the season.
Alli has been in impressive form for club and country this season, with him influential in England U19’s win over Belarus as well as the destruction of United.
The deal for Alli, a Liverpool fan, is likely to be formally agreed in January.
