Liverpool fans took the opportunity to protest about rising ticket prices duringSaturday’s Premier League clash with Stoke City.
Reds supporters unveiled a superb banner depicting the increase in prices since 1990, when they claim they paid just £4 for a ticket, rising to £24 in 2000 and £43 in 2010.
The prices were followed by another banner that read: “Let me tell you a story of a poor boy.”
It is the latest in a series of protests from Liverpool fans, who also recently held up a sign which said: “£nough is £nough.”
Meanwhile, a rare goal from Glen Johnson ensured Liverpool tasted victory for the first time in November as Stoke’s Anfield misery continued.
Brendan Rodgers dropped Captain Steven Gerrard to the bench on the 16th anniversary of his Reds debut in a bid to turn around their fortunes but a dire first half saw neither Mignolet or Asmir Begovic tested.
But things improved dramatically after the break as Mignolet denied Mame Biram Diouf before the Senegalese striker saw an effort cleared off the line.
With both sides guilty of wasting gilt-edged chances, the game appeared to be heading for a goalless draw before Johnson popped up at the death.
But the Reds were left to thank their much maligned keeper Mignolet for securing them the three points with a last ditch save from Bojan.
