Limelight productions, the producers of Idan Irawo, a Yoruba programme, which focuses on stars and celebrities on Africa Magic channel of DSTV, and Metronewsonline, an online news service provider, in conjunction with the Prince of Anthony, a hospitality haven of repute, have formed an alliance to honour top entertainment practitioners.
Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele; Juju musician, Sir Shina Peters; and TV/Radio presenter, Ambrose Somide, who is the General Manager of Faaji FM, are to be honoured in what has been tagged ‘Star Magic Award’.
This unique moment of fun and night of glamour, no doubt, has been specially designed to honour the three titans in the entertainment/media industry in Nigeria.
As at press time, all hands were on deck to host the event, which will become a monthly celebration at the Prince of Anthony Suites located at 27, Oyedele Ogunniyi Street, Anthony Village, Lagos State.
The doors of Prince of Anthony Suites will be thrown open on July 9 to welcome these personalities.
According to Femi Davies, the Publisher of Metronewsonline and spokesperson of the highly rated event: “These stars are going to be honoured and celebrated for their immense contributions to the development of entertainment in Nigeria.
“Who will say, Sir Shina Peters, Funke Akindele and Ambrose Somide have not contributed immensely to the growth of the industry?
“They have brought joy to so many households, home and abroad.
“So, therefore, honour should be given to those who deserve it.”
The Magic Star Nite has Chief Toyin Kolade, the Chief Executive Officer of Fisolak Global Resources, as the Mother of the Day and Hon. Apostle Toba Oke, the Chairman of Ifako Ijaiye Local Government Area, as the Special Guest of Honour.
It will feature varied musical presentation and comedy from renowned entertainers.
Mnet, according to the organisers, has promised to give special gifts to the awardees in appreciating their talents and contribution to the growth of the industry.
Media houses, top politicians, business tycoons have signified their interest to cover and grace the event, which will kick off at 7pm.
