Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Mueller were missing from Bayern Munich team training on Monday as the German champions prepared for the UEFA Champions League last 16 second leg with Liverpool.
The Polish forward worked individually inside and Mueller was excused for family reasons, while the rest of the squad trained on a pitch cleared of snow following a sudden cold snap.
Mueller and Joshua Kimmich are suspended for Wednesday’s clash with Liverpool, which resumes after a goalless first leg at Anfield.
Wingers Arjen Robben and Corentin Tolisso are out injured, but Bayern hope David Alaba and Arjen Robben will be available again.
“I think we have to be very careful,” midfielder James Rodriguez told the Bayern homepage. “Their counter-attacks are very quick.
“But I think that we have every chance to get into the next round.”
