The Kwara State Governor, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed, has called on Kwarans, irrespective of religious or political differences, to join hands with his administration in sustaining the ideals of caring for the poor that the late Waziri of Ilorin, Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki, epitomised.
Ahmed also called on the leadership of the North to close ranks in order to find solutions to the myraid of social and security challenges bedeviling the zone.
Ahmed made the call when the leadership of the Northern Consultative Forum and business mogul and Chairman, Doyin Group of Companies, Prince Samuel Adedoyin, separately paid condolence visits to him at the Government House, Ilorin on the death of Dr. Saraki.
He asserted that although it might be difficult for any individual to meet up with the generosity of the late Waziri of Ilorin in helping the poor, a milestone will be achieved through collective effort.
Ahmed explained: “The late Dr Saraki has left a big void that may be difficult to fill without unity.
“Collectively, we might be able to develop a platform to drive some of what he stood for.
“He stood for growth and development of the people because he believed that every strength required to move on resided in the people.”
Ahmed affirmed that Saraki worked selflessly for a better Kwara State and Nigeria, as a believer in a strong and virile nation, which he promised his administration would sustain.
In their separate remarks, the National Chairman of Arewa Consultative forum, Alhaji Aluko Mohammed, and the Chairman, Doyin Group of Companies, Prince Samuel Adedoyin, extolled the virtues Saraki.
