Kwara United FC of Ilorin on Friday said that there would be no hiding place for Enyimba of Aba in Week 27 of the Globacom Premier League match on Saturday.
Coach Ali Zubair of Kwara United told the News Agency of Nigeria in Ilorin that the team has completed plans to overwhelm Enyimba in the match at the Kwara Stadium Complex, Ilorin.
Zubair said: “The Afonja Warriors, as our fans call us, will not disappoint its fans on Saturday.
“We are not making any unusual preparation for Enyimba as different from other clubs in the league.”
The coach urged the club’s fans to come out en masse to support the club, saying they should put their previous poor showings behind them.
NAN reports that Kwara United lost 1-2 to Nasarawa United in Week 26 of the league on August 18 in Lafia and drew 1-1 with Enyimba in the first round of the league last April.
Zubair, however, reminded the fans that Kwara United had last season defeated Enyimba 1-0 at the stadium and was ready for a repeat this season.
NAN reports that Kwara United, currently occupying the fifth position on the log with 41 points after 26 matches, only managed two wins in their last five games.
They beat Enugu Rangers 1-0 in Ilorin and had another 1-0 away victory against Heartland in Owerri.
Enyimba, currently topping the league with 42 points after 26 matches, had yet to lose a match in their last five games.
