A tanker driver, identified as Salisu Sani, popularly known as Dangwari, has been crushed to death by the vehicle of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency.
Sani was crushed to death in the early hours of Friday.
Available information has it that the operatives of the traffic management agency intercepted Sani on the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, by Ijesha Bus Stop inward Mile 2.
In the process, Sani was allegedly knocked down by the LASTMA vehicle.
He was rushed to AMC Hospital, Amuwo Odofin, where he died.
The incident was said to have occurred before 6am.
There has been huge protest in the area since then.
Policemen have been deployed to the vicinity to restore normalcy while all stakeholders are being pacified to prevent further breakdown of law and order, a statement by LASTMA said on Friday.
It added that efforts were ongoing to clear obstructions and restore normal flow of traffic.
Investigation has commenced to unravel what actually transpired.
