The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency has issued an order for the removal of all billboards starting from Oshodi and ending at Mile 2 areas of Lagos State to members of the Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria and other owners of hoardings along the expressway.
According to the state outdoor regulating agency, the directive was issued by His Excellency, Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola.
No further reason for the removal was stated by the agency other than that the instruction came from the first citizen of the state.
After two months of initially passing the directives to OAAN members and time spent lobbying the agency as well as the office of the governor, members are reported to be complying with this directive from Fashola.
As at press time, we confirmed over two removals and many are presently on site trying to do the same.
