The Kano State Police Command is detaining the eldest son of Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State, Aminu Sule Lamido, for killing a middle aged man along the Bayero University Kano Road, by Rumfa College, Kano, Kano State.
Sources said incident occurred at about 8.55pm on Wednesday.
The victim was said to have died on the spot.
The spokesman of the Kano State Police Command, ASP Magaji Musa Majia, confirmed the incident to Vanguard newspaper on Wednesday night.
Aminu is being detained at Kwali Police Station in Kano, Kano State.
His Sport Utility Vehicle, with which he crushed the man, is also in the police station.
This is the second time Aminu will be in the news in the last two months.
Aminu is facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for alleged money laundering.
He was caught at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano on his way out of Nigeria with $50,000.
However, he declared just $10,000 to the Nigeria Customs Service.
