The Secretary to the State Government, Tunji Bello, over the weekend expressed the readiness of the State Government to collaborate with the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission to engender a corrupt free society.
Bello spoke when a delegation from the ICPC Lagos Zonal Office visited him at the Secretariat, Ikeja.
He stressed that the State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, is always ready to support all the law enforcement agencies saddled with the responsibility in this regard.
He added that part of measures to be adopted is the engagement in advocacy and enlightenment of the citizenry and government officials on the evils of corruption.
Bello tasked the ICPC to avail the State of some of its corruption risk assessment training programmes for public officials, promising a favourable consideration from the State Government.
The SSG said the present administration in Lagos State under Ambode runs a very transparent government, which is built on fiscal discipline.
Earlier in his remarks, the Zonal Commissioner, ICPC Lagos Office, Shintama P. Binga, congratulated the state on its attainment of 50 years of statehood and Ambode for being the golden Governor.
Binga informed that there are various trainings available for Government officials such as Corruption Risk Assessment Training from the ICPC.
He added that the training would enlighten and educate government officials on how to carry out their day to day activities without engaging in corrupt practices but improving on service delivery.
He said ICPC has also taken its public enlightenment campaign on corruption and all other related vices to schools in Lagos to infuse anti-corruption into students curriculum, while anti-corruption clubs have also been introduced.
Binga later presented some ICPC publications on anti-corruption to the SSG.
