The Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, on Wednesday condoled with Chief Bisi Akande, former Interim National Chairman of All Progressives Congress, over the death of his wife, Omowunmi.
Akande, also a former Governor of Osun State, lost his wife early Wednesday.
She died at the University College Hospital, Ibadan at 73.
The speaker, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Musbau Razak, described the death of Akande’s wife as a huge loss, coming when her wisdom and words of advice were still needed.
Obasa said: “Those who have come in contact with her will attest to her humility, wisdom, care and courage, especially the solid support she provided for her husband all through.
“We will really miss Mama because I know we still need her wisdom and words of advice. But we are happy that she lived a good life worthy of emulation.”
He said that Akande’s late wife cared for not only to her biological children, but also showed care to all who came in contact with her.
Obasa said until her demise, she was an obedient, caring, loving, dutiful and loyal wife to Chief Akande.
He said: “While commiserating with the Akande family of Ila Orangun in Osun State, we pray that God gives the family the fortitude to bear the loss.”
