A Commissioner of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, Lateef Raji, is dead
The Commissioner, according to sources, died at about 4am on Monday during a brief illness.
According to available information, Raji is scheduled to be buried in his hometown in Idoani, Ondo State later today.
Raji was a former Chairman of the defunct Alliance for Democracy, which metamorphosed into the Action Congress of Nigeria and later merged with four other parties to form the All Progressives Congress.
Raji was also a Special Adviser on Information to Babatunde Raji Fashola, when he was the Lagos State Governor.
He was said to have celebrated his daughter’s birthday a few days ago.
His death was said to have come as a shock to the people of his area in Oshodi, Lagos State because of his generosity.
