The Lagos State House of Assembly has confirmed two additional nominees submitted by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the state’s Audit Service Commission.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the confirmation of the duo was by voice votes at plenary on Monday.
The Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, said the nominees were Yakub Balogun and Jimoh Ibrahim.
Obasa said Balogun replaced Abiodun Akhigbe, who was rejected by the House on May 15.
The speaker told the nominees that the House would not fail in its oversight to ensure that the commission performed its responsibility to the people of the state.
NAN reports that the House had on Thursday rejected Akhigbe as nominee for the state’s Audit Service Commission, while Ibrahim was absent for the screening.
Three other nominees confirmed by the House were the commission’s Chairman, Oluwatoyin Adegbuji-Onikoyi, Emmanuel Kappo (member) and Jokotola Ojosipe-Ogundimu (member).
