The Itori Unit Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps says Lafarge Cement Company has begun rehabilitation works at Papa-Ewekoro-Itori area on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
The Itori Unit Commander of FRSC, Sunday Oko, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Ota, Ogun State on Saturday.
He said the rehabilitation would help to reduce discomfort experienced by motorists.
Oko said the palliative works, which started on Friday, would take three days to complete.
“FRSC commends the management of the Lafarge Company for repairing the deplorable road,” he said
He cautioned motorists against reckless and dangerous driving around the axis.
According to him, vehicular movement and traffic gridlock has increased due to the ongoing works and lifting of interstate travel ban.
The unit commander said the ongoing palliative works had made traffic to be diverted to the other side of the road.
Oko cautioned motorists against speeding and wrongful overtaking to prevent collision with oncoming vehicles
He said the command would increase its patrol along this axis to control traffic and check excesses of drivers on the road.
Oko implored motorists to obey FRSC personnel and other sister agencies that would be on ground to ensure sanity so as to avoid unnecessary loss of lives.
