Kwara United will on Thursday (today) begin training in their camp base in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State ahead of the 2015/2016 Nigeria National League championship.
While addressing the players on Wednesday before their departure to Ado-Ekiti, the Chairman of the club, Prince Oladimeji Thompson, charged the players to work hard to justify their selection.
Thompson reminded them that the selection was not final, as more unserious players and those who would not make the standard will still be dropped.
He also charged them to be disciplined and obey all camp rules and the code of conduct given out by the team.
He assured them that their welfare will be taken serious in order to get the best out of them ahead of the challenges, even as he reminded them that the target of the team was to gain promotion to the Premier League.
Prince Thompson commended the state government, the Ministry of Sports and the stakeholders for their support.
Earlier, the Technical Adviser of the team, Coach John Sam Obuh, while reading out the name of the 40 players selected for the camping, said selecting them for camping does not guarantee being in the team at the end of it all, charging them on standard.
The 40 players were picked from the over 400 players that participated in the 11-day screening exercise supervised by Obuh.
The club Captain, Sherif Jimoh, commended the management and the coaches for their understanding.
Jimoh charged the management on welfare, security and health of the players, adding that they will strive to justify their inclusion in the team.
