The Kwara Government says it will present a brand new Hyundai XCent Saloon car to the best Civil Servant of the year 2018.
Susan Oluwole, the Head of Service, stated this on Monday in Ilorin at a news briefing on the commencement of 2018 Kwara State Civil Service Week held in Ilorin.
The HOS said that this to reward hard working civil servants in the state, and also in line with the state government resolve to reward excellence where it is due.
She explained that the ‘Civil Service Week’ is being arranged to acknowledge the immense contributions of the civil servants at the National and State levels in meeting the challenges of the 21st century.
Oluwole noted that the civil service week is also in recognition of the pride of place occupied by the civil servants in the successful and smooth implementation of the government’s noble policies and programmes for the development of the state and good of all.
According to her, Nigeria as a sovereign nation has since 1999 been commemorating the annual African Day of Civil Service and Administration with other African countries.
She said: “This is to conform to the 1994 Tangier Declaration made by the Ministers of Civil Service held in Tangier, Morrocco.”
The HOS also said that during the civil service week, the state Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed will interact with a cross section of civil servants on the achievements, problems and prospects of the civil service in Kwara.
