The Kwara State Government has refuted reports of ongoing communal clashes in Ifelodun Local Government Area and other parts of the state, while urging residents, including National Youth Service Corps members to go about their normal activities.
The state government, in a statement on Sunday, said peace had returned to the two communities initially affected by local clashes few weeks ago.
The government promised that it will continue to ensure the safety of lives and property of the people of the state.
Corps members posted to communities in Ifelodun Local Government Area and other parts of the state have also been asked to report to their places of primary assignment.
The Kwara State Government said it will continue to ensure the safety of lives and property of the people of the state, adding that the state as a whole remains peaceful and calm.
It will be recalled that the state government few weeks ago imposed a 24-hour curfew on Share-Tsaragi communities following a communal clash between the two communities, which resulted in the burning of houses and left several people injured.
Following the gradual return of normalcy, the state government relaxed the curfew to allow movement between 9am and 3pm in the two communities.
The state government has also warned that any individual or group found disrupting public peace and order will be dealt with in accordance with the laws of the land.
