The Kwara State House of Assembly on Friday approved Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed’s request to access N1.25 billion loan from a commercial bank.
The approval followed the adoption of the report of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, presented by its Chairman, Alhaji Suleiman Sunaboro
The Speaker, Hon. Rasaq Atunwa, said the request was in order.
Atunwa said the access of the request for the loan satisfied the provisions of Section 35 sub-sections 1a and 1b and 36 2a and 2b of the Fiscal Responsibility Law.
Atunwa said the request for the loan conformed to due process.
The governor had said that the loan would be used to finance development projects.
