Former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on Saturday night paid a courtesy visit to former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, at his residence in Asokoro, Abuja.
Kwankwaso, who is being rumoured to planning a switch from the All Progressives Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party, arrived Abubakar’s residence at about 8.30pm and went into a closed door meeting with the former Vice President.
The details of their meeting were not made public.
The meeting lasted about 45 minutes.
It was however gathered from a source close to the meeting that the visit of Kwankwaso was to pay Sallah homage to Abubakar, who was not in the country during the Eid El Fitr celebrations.
The source said both leaders also used the occasion of the visit to discuss the state of the nation.
Media aide to Abubakar, Mazi Paul Ibe, confirmed the visit.
Ibe, however, declined to discuss details of the discussion between the two leaders.
