The Kogi State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has warned its officers against indolence and extortion of motorists on the highways.
FRSC Sector Commander, Kogi State, Samuel Oyedeji gave the warning while declaring open a workshop for heads of operations held at the command’s head office in Lokoja.
According to him, any officer found wanting in his or her duty would be severely dealt with by the corps’ rules and even face dismissal to serve as a deterrent to others.
“We are in Kogi as officers and men of the corps to serve diligently; and that we must put at the back of our minds.

“Any act that could tarnish our image as a corps should be avoided and we should rather project the FRSC in good light before the public,” he said.
He emphasized that the safety of travellers on the highways should be paramount to the corps and urged officers to be proactive in reaching out during road accidents.
