In-form Everton of England star, Victor Anichebe, is back on the wish list of the Super Eagles’ gaffer, Stephen Keshi, ahead of the FIFA Confederation Cup and the World Cup qualifiers.
Keshi did not hide his admiration for the stocky forward during a brief chat with The Eagle Online from Florida, USA, where he currently observing a short break.
According him: “Anichebe (Victor) is great striker whom I have so much passion for.
“I believe he has the qualities to fight for shirt in the national team.
“He is in form of his life and I believe he would be ready to serve his fatherland when he’s finally called upon.”
Anichebe flicked Sylvian Distin’s header past Julio Cesar from inside the six-yard box to double Everton’s advantage in the 56th minute to compound the woes of relegation battling Queens Park Rangers.
Anichebe, who gave QPR’s defence a torrid time, has now scored six goals in the Premier League for Everton this season and eight in all competitions, having got a goal apiece in the Capital One Cup and the FA Cup.
Another Nigerian, Nedem Onuoha, featured for QPR for the entire duration of the game, making his 19th Premier League appearance for the relegation strugglers.
Anichebe was taken off in the second minute of injury time for Johnny Heitinga.
