Super Eagles’ gaffer, Stephen Keshi, is prepared to unleash Werder Bremen striker, Joseph Akpala, and Nnamdi Oduamadi on the El-Tri of Mexico in a friendly at the Reliant Stadium in Houston Houston, Texas, USA on Friday.
Speaking with The Eagle Online from Huston, Texas on Wednesday, the AFCON 2013 winning coach believes the Mexican friendly will afford him the opportunity to assess new players ahead of the World Cup qualifying ties against Kenya and Namibia.
Keshi boasted: “We are going to take this friendly against Mexico with all seriousness because it gives us the opportunity to test our new boys and prepare them for the battles ahead of us.
“For me, there are lots of histories between Nigeria and Mexico in football. Surely, our opponents are big guns in world football and we are prepared to fight them a big fight on Friday.”
The Eagle Online scoop revealed that Werder Bremen’s striker, Joseph Akpala, John Ogu, Babatunde Michael and Kunle Odulami are among the players the coach is planning to unleash on the Mexicans.
