Few weeks after crying foul over his seven months unpaid salaries, The Eagle Online has exclusively gathered that the Super Eagles Chief Coach, Stephen Keshi, is again stranded in Calabar, Cross River State ahead of the all important Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifying play off against the Walya Antelopes of Ethiopia.
Reliable sources hinted that the Super Eagles handler has been barred from the official hotel of the team and the coach is left with no other option than to make private arrangements for a hotel until the Nigeria Football Federation and the Cross River State Government make provisions for the team and the technical crew.
A reliable source, who is livid by the treatment meted to the African Cup of Nations winning coach, hinted: “We all know the importance that is attached to this weekend’s game against Ethiopia in Calabar and yet we are not giving it all the necessary attention that is required.
“The NFF would have paid Stephen (Keshi) his salaries upfront if he is a white man and there won’t be this noise about owing seven months salary.
“Now, attention has been turned to the Golden Eaglets because the team did well at the U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates but football has gone beyond all that.
“We must encourage the teams from the scratch until they write their names in gold and stop to wait until any eventualities.”
Earlier reports had it that Keshi has handed the players a Tuesday deadline to arrive camp ahead of the clash against Ethiopia in Calabar on November 16.
The African Champions are favourites to progress to next year’s tournament in Brazil, having won the first leg 2-1.
