Kebbi State Football Association says it will establish a standard Federation of International Football Association technical center in order to fully develop the game of football in the state.
The FA Chairman, who is also a Congress member of Nigeria Football Federation, Abubakar Ladan, made this known to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.
“The State football association will establish a standard FIFA technical center in order to fully develop football game in the state,” Ladan said.
According to him, the grant for the construction of the facility is through the NFF, provided by FIFA annually to develop football in Nigeria.
He explained that the FIFA technical center would comprise of artificially grassed football field, well-equipped offices, conference centers, hostels, among other football facilities.
Ladan said: “When completed, the facility will enable us to host matches, including those involving national teams.
“Already, the state government has provided four hectares of land for the construction of the facility to NFF in the state.”
Ladan, who is also the Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development in the state, commended the Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu, for supporting the establishment of state team, Kebbi United.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Kebbi United is currently playing in the national league division one.
