The Katsina State police command said its men have arrested a syndicate of five men who at different intervals lured and had an unlawful carnal knowledge of a 17yrs old boy against the order of nature.
The suspects were arrested on July 27, 2021, according to the spokesman of the command, SP Gambo Isah.
The police spokesperson gave the names of the suspects as: Ibrahim Amadu, 42; Saminu Abdullahi, 25; Jamilu Ibrahim, 50; Bashir Lawal, 30, and Mohammed Sani, 30.
According to the statement, the victim alleged that one Ibrahim Amadu took him to a particular location in Katsina where he threatened him with a knife, tied his hands with a rope and sodomised him.
He also told the police that all the other suspects did the same at different places and intervals.
The victim alss mentioned six other suspects who had unlawful carnal knowledge of him, but who are presently at large.
The police PRO said investigation is ongoing.
In another development, the command said its men, on July 19, based on a tip-off, arrested a member of an armed robbery gang that had been terrorizing the Batsari Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect, Kabir Musa, 20, in the course of investigation confessed to have conspired with one Ila Lawal, and Jamilu Murnai (now at large) and attacked the residence of one Muhammed Sada and Saminu Sada in Fura Girke village, Batsari LGA, and robbed them him of their belongings.
The command also said its men arrested suspected receivers of wheelchairs donated by the Aminu Bello Masari Youth Empowerment Foundation to physically challenged persons in the state.
Governor Masari, under his empowerment scheme, had donated 200 wheelchairs to physically challenge persons in the state.
But the police said some unscrupulous persons conspired and sold 15 of them at a give-away price.
The wheelchairs bought by the foundation at the cost of N150,000 each were sold out to receivers at N7,000) each.
The police PRO, who did not mention the names of the arrested suspects, said investigation is ongoing.
