Two-time African Footballer of the Year, Nwankwo Kanu, has been named ambassador of Ultimate Football Fan TV reality show.
The event, powered by E-transact and Kanu Heart Foundation, is scheduled to be aired on two Nigerian television network for soccer loving Nigerians to express knowledge of the game.
According to the organizers, amazing prizes such as N20 million, SUV and an all expenses paid trip to watch live match of one’s favourite team anywhere in the world would be won.
Kanu, whose heart foundation project has recorded over 540 successful heart surgeries, said he sees the reality show as a means of rewarding to Nigerian football fans.
He said: “I realize soccer loving Nigerians have suffered a lot in the act of supporting their various clubs.
“I decided to become an ambassador and supporter of this great show with the aim of repeating what people said I have achieved with my project, Kanu Hearts Foundation.
“I have been a philanthropist right from my childhood.
“I didn’t go into that all because people keep clamouring for the name ‘Papilo’ but I went into this due to stories I have heard about soccer fans that gave up the ghost in the course of supporting their various clubs.
“I urge fans that know everything about their club to come grab tickets for the reality show.”
In a similar vein, Adeyemi Adeyemo of the E-transacts explained reasons behind the partnership.
Adeyemi said: “We are very happy being part of this great idea.
“E-transact sees this as a way of rewarding soccer lovers.
“Football is the major game that unites Nigerians and we won’t hesitate to continue supporting the show.”
