Eminent businessman and former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu, has enjoined Christian faithful to pray for the nation as they celebrate Easter.
Kalu noted that the season should be seen as a period of self-appraisal and recommitment to a greater Nigeria.
In his Easter message signed by his Special Adviser, Kunle Oyewumi, Kalu said: “The Easter season is here again.
“We give glory to God Almighty for granting us the gift of life.
“I wish to convey my goodwill message to Christians all over the world on this year’s Easter celebration.
“I would like to appeal to Nigerians to use this special period to pray for the nation.”
The former governor noted that as individuals, we need to rededicate our lives to the teaching of the holy book by embracing love, togetherness, brotherhood and unity irrespective of tribal, religious, political and ethnic divides.
Kalu, while wishing the Christian community a fulfilling Easter celebration, advised them to celebrate with sober reflection, adding that Nigeria can only be great if we sustain peaceful co-existence among ourselves.
