A former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu, has denied “selling” the Progressives Peoples Alliance, the platform on which he is seeking to actualise his ambition of going to the Senate, to Chief Alex Otti and Chief Victor Umeh of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
Otti is the governorship candidate of APGA in Abia State, while Kalu is seeking the mandate of the people of Abia North Senatorial District to represent them in the National Assembly.
A text message had been going round the state alleging that Otti and APGA have bought the PPA from Kalu for N3.4 million.
In its reaction, the Orji Kalu Campaign Organisation said nothing could be further from the truth.
A statement by the Campaign Organisation said: “We wish to state categorically that Dr. Orji Kalu, PPA Senatorial Candidate for Abia North never met with Chief Alex Otti and Chief Victor Umeh not to talk of receiving any money from the duo.
“We are by this text message advising all PPA supporters, well wishers, friends and other stakeholders in the polity to disregard such misleading and unpatriotic message.
“We advice the perpetrators of this false message to desist from such act.
“Come March 28, vote for the people’s choice, Dr. Orji Kalu and other PPA candidates.”
