The Chairman of Nigeria Professional Football League side, Kaduna United, Alhaji Sabo Babayaro, has commended the Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Ramalan Yero, for improved financial support to the team.
Babayaro said in Kaduna on Monday that with the level of support from Yero, Kaduna United will excel this season.
He said: “Before now, we used to pay our players salary after three months.
“For example, January, February and March salaries are paid in April.
“But thanks to our sports loving governor, this has changed.
“As we speak, January and February salaries have been paid.
“Match bonuses are also being paid as at when due and that is what players like.”
Babayaro said further that the players, coaches and the management will put in their best and prayed that God gives the team one of the continental tickets at the end of the current season.
On preparation for the team’s home match on Thursday against Sharks, Babayaro said the players are highly motivated and this could be seen in how they have been training.
“By the grace of God, we will start on a winning note at home on Thursday,” he said.
The Kaduna United boss also explained why some players who dumped the team while in crises last year were re-absorbed.
He said: “If God who needs nothing from us can forgive us of our sins, then we as human beings too should be ready to forgive.”
