Newcomers Kada City Stars Football Club of Kaduna on Wednesday beat hosts Plateau United FC of Jos 1-0 in a 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League fixture.
In one of the two away wins recorded on the league’s Match Day 10, Kada City Stars scored through Sadiq Suleiman in the 81st minute at the New Jos Stadium.
The game was a Group B fixture, and the win pushed the Kaduna side to 10 points from eight matches.
Go Round FC of Omuku, near Port Harcourt, were also winners away from home as they beat Gombe United 1-0 in another Group B match.
In the match played at Gombe’s Pantami Stadium, Henry Ochuba’s seventh minute goal made all the difference for the visitors.
Hosts Insurance FC drew 1-1 with visiting Rivers United of Port Harcourt, in the day’s lone drawn game and played at the University of Benin Sports Complex.
Michael Ugwu scored for the hosts in the 13th minute, while Osy Martins drew the visitors level in the 49th minute of the Group A match.
Enyimba International beat visiting Katsina United 2-0 in a Group A match also, after Ifeanyi Anaemena’s 34th minute penalty kick goal and Abdulrahman Bashir’s 60th minute goal.
But the visitors had Chinedu Ajanah dismissed for dissent in the 12th minute and Dominic Abbah sent off in the 43rd minute after a foul on Bashir.
MFM FC of Lagos beat visiting Sunshine Stars of Akure 2-0 at the Agege Stadium in Group A, with goals from Adeniji Kabir (42nd minute) and Michael Ohanu (69th minute).
El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri beat visiting Heartland FC of Owerri 2-0 in Group B, with Ba’akaka Kolo and Innocent Gabriel providing the goals in the 74th and 86th minutes.
In the same group, Akwa United FC of Uyo extended their unbeaten run to five matches by beating visiting FC IfeanyiUbah 1-0.
Mfon Udoh made it his sixth goal in nine appearances with a 40th minute strike for the hosts to win.
Kano Pillars beat visiting Abia Warriors of Umuahia 2-0 in Group B at the Sabon Gari Stadium in Kano.
Gambo Mohammed scored in the 72nd minute and Rabiu Ali finishing off the game with an 87th minute penalty kick.
Nasarawa United of Lafia beat visiting Yobe Desert Stars of Damaturu 1-0 in Group B also, with Isah Ndala’s 43rd minute goal giving them the full points.
Hosts Rangers International of Enugu beat Wikki Tourists of Bauchi in Group A, with Michael Uchebo scoring in the 60th minute and Godwin Aguda in the 78th minute.
Abba Umar reduced the tally in the 86th minute.
Lobi Stars struggled to beat Remo Stars of Sagamu 2-1 in Makurdi in another Group A fixture, after the visitors drew level with a Sunday Williams’ 23rd minute goal.
Yaya Kone gave the hosts a 14th minute lead, and he secured the win for them with another goal in the opening minute of added time.
