Anthony Joshua has revealed the ingredient to his success on fight days: porridge.
The world heavyweight champion, 28, said he relies on it to give him maximum energy before he gets in the ring.
“It kind of gets you fuelled up without putting too much solid food in you. I think that’s important — to stay light and still have a lot of energy,” he said.
“I like sweet potatoes as well with some veg, and I like fish because it is light, tastes good and is healthy. These are the types of things I eat on the day, and [I have] a lot of fluids as well.”
Joshua opened up about his diet to encourage those looking to achieve an athlete’s physique to eat correctly.
“When people are unhealthy in fitness, you only have what you eat, what you drink and how you train,” he said. “Little walks and even just a massage, even just stretching, are little things that change the body. You can get your vitamins and your minerals from nuts and fruits, carbs from potatoes and rice and protein from chicken and fish.”
