WBA, WBO and IBF champion Anthony Joshua is willing to face WBC and The Ring titleholder Tyson Fury.
However, Joshua is obliged to conduct mandatory defences against Kubrat Pulev (IBF) and Oleksandr Usyk (WBO), while Fury has a rubber match against Deontey Wilder and Dillian White as WBC №1 contender.
Matchroom Boxing CEO Eddie Hearn, who represents Joshua, Usyk and White, is now working on the scenario that would work for each side, Boxing News 24 reports.
“We do have an issue with Oleksandr Usyk. He has to get his shot at the heavyweight title. Maybe AJ fights him in the spring. Some mandatory challengers aren’t the most deserving challengers in the world. Dillian Whyte is the most deserving challenger I have seen for a long time. So give him his opportunity,” Hearn stated.
He also believes that Usyk and White should not fight each other.
“No, not really because both guys [Whyte and Usyk] want their shot at the world heavyweight titles. That is such a risky fight for both,” the boxing promoter added.
As reported earlier, Usyk is going to use all the possible means to get a shot at the WBO heavyweight title.
