The President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Johnathan, on Friday paid a surprise visit to the Police College in Ikeja, Lagos State.
The Eagle Online learnt that the visit was to enable the President see by himself the report he has heard that the college is in a deplorable state.
Jonathan, who was on his way to Abidjan, Cote d”ivoire for the Heads of State summit of the Economic Community of West African States, was said to have made the stopover without informing his aides earlier.
A television report was said to have highlighted the deplorable state of one of the country’s premier police institutions.
It was learnt that the visit caught the police authorities unawares as the college staff ran in different directions in the bid to show the President the facilities in the college.
