Seven person were saved from untimely death when operatives of the Jigawa State Police Command stopped them from being buried after a building collapse.
This development was confirmed by the spokesman of the Command, DSP Lawal Shi’isu Adam, in a statement on Saturday.
According to Adam, the incident occurred in a Bursali, Birniwa Local Government Area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer said this happened after the seven were rescued from a collapsed building and they were presumed dead.
He said: “A local moulds building collapsed at Bursali and trapped the seven of the occupants.
“On receipt of the report a team of policemen mobilised and rushed to the scene.
“On arrival, seven were found lifeless and one seriously injured.”
Adam said members of the community had started preparing them for burial when the police arrived, adding: “The Police emphasised on going to hospital for confirmation.
“After a hot argument the police won and took them to Birniwa General Hospital.
“On the arrival of the hospital, the doctor examined that the said dead people are all alive.
“To the extent that four of them could even talk at the hospital.”
