Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has been handed Arsenal’s PFA Community Champion award for his commitment to the local community during the 2016-2017 season, informs the official website of Arsenal, arsenal.com.
The Gunners number seventeen is presently in Australia training with the Gunners first team, and was handed the award before his trip on Sunday evening.
Last season, Iwobi stood out amongst his teammates after donating a day’s wages to The Arsenal Foundation in December and supported Arsenal for Everyone matchday against Hull City.
The 21-year-old made out time to visit the Arsenal Hub and the club’s estates football programme at Elthorne Park, near Emirates Stadium.
Former United States international Heather O’Reilly won the Champion award for the women’s teams.
