I’ve no regrets working with Oshiomhole – Major Loye

The Chairman, Edo State Task Force on Demolition of Illegal properties and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Environment, Major Lawrence Loye, says he has no regrets working with Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
Loye made the assertion today during a luncheon organised for him by the Officers of the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport, Benin City.

According to Loye: “I thank the Comrade Governor for considering me worthy of this position. Politics is deeper than people think. It is more than the surface the people look at.
“Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is a father. When a father deals with you when you err, you appreciate that father more than a father who continues to pamper you. What happened in the past was an issue between father and son and I have no cause to regret working with Comrade Oshiomhole.
“In this task of urban renewal and making our capital Benin City the best in the country, I Major Lawrence Loye promise to continue to my best and nothing less.”
Oshiomhole assured the people of the state that the government would spare no efforts in ensuring that the urban renewal plan of the government for state capital is judiciously followed.
Showering encomiums on Loye for his efforts in this direction, Oshiomhole said: “Major Loye has been of tremendous help to my administration, in carrying out one of the major challenges we’ve had to face, namely, urban renewal. And in doing this, illegal structures had to go and any property that causes obstruction in our road expansion efforts also had to go.
“The act of physically removing illegal structures demands a lot of courage and we were fortunate to have in Major a man with sound military training, with a lot of discipline, with a lot of courage and all of these combinations have been very helpful in our quest to widen the roads and remove illegal structures and deal with the problem of traffic congestion.”
In his remarks, the Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport, Brig. General E.T. Nienge, said the luncheon was to honour Loye who voluntarily retired from the school.
