The Independent National Electoral Commission on Tuesday issued Certificate of Return to the new representative of Rivers East Senatorial District, Senator Andrew Uchendu, following his victory at the Court of Appeal.
The National Electoral Commissioner for the South South, May Agbamuche, while issuing the Certificate, congratulated the candidate of the All Progressives Congress on his victory.
Addressing journalists after receiving the Certificate of Return, Uchendu said he has performed well before and is willing to perform better.
Reacting to a statement credited to the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, that his District had no senator after the Court of Appeal verdict, Uchendu said Wike was the worst governor in the history of the state.
He claimed that it was him as the chairman of a think-tank set up by Rotimi Amaechi that tutored Wike while he was just a local government chairman.
Uchendu however said he is coming in peace and would pay Wike a courtesy visit to ensure peace in the state.
