The Independent National Electoral Commission has fixed February 13 for the Demsa, Lamurde and Numan Federal Constituency re-run election in Adamawa State.
This was contained in a statement signed by Rifkatu Duku, the Head of Information of the INEC office in Adamawa State, and made available to News Agency of Nigeria in Yola on Monday.
The statement said: “The Independent National Electoral Commission in the state wish to inform all stakeholders about the re-run election for the Demsa, Lamurde and Numan Federal Constituency in Adamawa.
“The election is scheduled for February 13, 2016.”
Duku said the election, which is to take place in Demsa, Lamurde and Numan local government areas, would hold in all the 30 wards that make up the federal constituency.
The statement urged all stakeholders involved to prepare for the election.
It could be recalled that in November last year, a Federal Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja nullified the election of Social Democratic Party’s Kwamoti Laori and ordered for the re-run election.
