Ogun State civil workforce has been warned that indecent/shabby dressing would no longer be condoned in the service.
The state Head of Service, Dahunsi Ogunteye, who disclosed this in a press statement, warned that colored hair, painted nails and unethical make up would no longer be tolerated.
The statement reads: “It has become noticeable in recent time, abysmal manner some officers in the State Civil/Public Service dress to the office.
“Suffice to mention that some Civil/Public servants affix colored hair, painted nails and unethical make up indiscriminately, which are outright indecent, immodest, unacceptable and against the mode of dressing in the public service.
“This issue of unethical dressing among some staff is becoming alarming and the need to address the situation has become preeminent.
“In accordance with Ogun State Public Service Rules 04314 which states that “No officer shall appear in the office or anywhere in his official capacity dressed in a manner considered inappropriate or immodest”, it has therefore, become imperative to curb this menace before it gets out of hands.
“To this end, any officer found culpable of violating the above Rule shall be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the Public Service Rules.
“All Heads of Government Agencies are requested to ensure strict compliance with the content of this circular and kindly note that non-compliance with this Rule will attract appropriate sanctions.
“Kindly give the content of this Circular letter the widest publicity it deserves.”
