The Nigeria Immigration Service has announced the arrest of 13 teenage Chinese prostitutes in Lagos State.
The NIS spokesman, Joachim Olumba, said officials acted on a tip off and stormed an apartment on Emina Crescent, off Toyin Street, Ikeja, where they raided the room the girls were lodged by a Chinese couple identified as Sun and Yin Li.
Olumba said more than 40 teenage girls were moved from China and lodged in the apartment for sexual reasons.
It was gathered that the Chinese teenage girls were thereafter forced to sleep with Nigerian politicians, business executives and expatriates who pay as much as between $1,000 and $2,500 for their services.
Immigration officers said Sun and Yin Li run the cartel but were said to have escaped with some of the girls when immigration officers stormed the apartment.
Olumba however said the officers are on the trail of the couple while thirteen girls are in their custody for interrogation.
He said after the investigation, the girls will be deported to China as the immigration officers have contacted the Chinese embassy for appropriate action.
