Dr. Muiz Banire (SAN) on Thursday said he remains in office as the National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress.
Banire spoke against the backdrop of his suspension from the party by the executive of Mushin Local Government Area of the party in Lagos State.
He is from Mushin Local Government Area.
The Executive Committee of the Local Government had on Thursday ratified the decision of Banire’s Ward, Ward C, to suspend him for alleged anti-party activities.
It went further to ask the National Working Committee of the party to remove him from office as National Legal Adviser.
But reacting, Banire linked the suspension to the Lagos State Government.
He said: “I have just been told that a press release is circulating around from the State Government that I have been suspended.
“This is another orchestrated lie by the State.
“I am still the substantive legal adviser of the party above being suspended by any organ but the National leadership of the APC.
“For those who care, they should watch NTA and other media outlets tonight for where I was presenting my Constitutional amendment report to the National Chairman.
“They should ignore the mischief.”
