The prestigious LBA Nigeria has named the duo of Fidelis Ilechukwu and Ishaq Kayode, winners of its monthly Coach Of The Month and Player Of The Month awards for their outstanding performance in the Nigeria Professional Football League, in February.
Ilechukwu is head coach of Plateau United, while Kayode is an influential player at table topping Rivers United.
To win the Coach of The Month award, he edged the trio of Stanley Eguma (Rivers United), Aliyu Zubairu (Gombe United) and Erasmus Onuh (Heartland).
Ilechukwu took his team to an unbeaten run in March and claimed away victories at difficult grounds like Rangers and Kano Pillars.
He is the only Coach who finished the month under review unbeaten.
To claim the Player of the month award, Kayode scored thrice and remained an influential figure in United’s match day’s squad.
The Rivers United forward claimed the award ahead of the Gombe United duo of Ibrahim Yahaya and Abdulazeez Yusuf as well as Abia Warriors’ Valentine Udoh.
The duo will receive their awards soon.
