Ignore Obasanjo, pro-Atiku group tells Nigerians

The group stated this in a press statement issued to the press and signed by its president, Afam Basil Nsofor, stressing that the comments of the former president were based on “sheer jealousy and political vendetta”.

The Atiku Global Network has urged Nigerians to disregard the comments of former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, who was quoted as saying that “his God will not forgive him if he supports Atiku for president in the 2019 elections.
The group stated this in a press statement issued to the press and signed by its president, Afam Basil Nsofor, stressing that the comments of the former president were based on “sheer jealousy and political vendetta”.
The group pointed out that the former president has taken upon himself as the only “good political leader in the country and Nigerians should desist from taking him serious.
It said: “But should Nigerians continue taking Obasanjo serious? Who can we say Obasanjo has ever approved in Nigeria except himself? Is he sincere and honest in castigating others or does he do it to appear to be the only good one? Is his sense of judgement not likely failing him, may be due to old age?
“About four years ago, he destroyed his PDP membership card on national television and supported Buhari. Today, he is fighting Buhari and realligning with PDP.
“We at ATIKU GLOBAL NETWORK, AGN, feel that Nigerians should no longer continue taking Obasanjo serious in his selfish efforts to push his personal political agenda through a calculated attempt to malign  other politicians who are great men in their own counts.”
The group noted that Atiku Abubakar is a tested and trusted nationalist and no matter the series of attacks on him by Obasanjo, Nigerians are no longer fools since they can see the antics behind the attacks.
It added: “Atiku Abubakar is gradually emerging as the leading Presidential Aspirant for 2019 and no amount of jealousy, ill feelings, hatred and name calling from Obasanjo can prevent him from achieving all that God had placed him to achieve for the good, development and advancement of Nigeria, and to the satisfaction of all Nigerians.
“By now, Nigerians have come to know who their true leaders are and if Obasanjo should think that Nigerians will always vote according to his body language, he should better retract his steps because Nigerians now know better. Nigerians now know that the Obasanjo hoodwink no longer carries truth and are alligning with Atiku Abubakar because they know he means well for all Nigerians and that he possesses all it takes to move our potentially great Nation to the next levels.
“Obasanjo should know that credible Nigerians no longer take him serious.”
