The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, has been commended for embarking on massive infrastructural projects geared towards delivering dividends of democracy to the people of the State.
The National President, Ilorin Emirate Descendant Progressive Union, Ambassador Usman AbdulAziz,gave the commendation when he led the newly elected national Executives on a courtesy call on the governor on Wednesday in Ilorin.
Ambassdor AbdulAziz commended the governor’s courage on embarking on various road projects, the Light up Kwara among others despite the meagre resources available to the State.
He noted that the Union had been monitoring the administration’s approach and has concluded that Governor Ahmed has lived to the expectations of the people.
Ambassdor Abdulaziz, therefore, solicited for more information to be made available to the Union being a critical stakeholder and link between the people and government.
In his remarks, Governor Abdulfatah pledged that his administration will not relent in developmental projects especially in areas of roads, water supply, education and health.
He noted that the state Government sees IEDPU as a strong partner in development that always provides constructive criticism and suggestions.
Governor Ahmed, therefore, called on other community associations to reposition themselves to provide strong support for governance in the state.
He also assured IEDPU that government’s channels of communication would be strengthened to improve the interface between government and the people.
