England international, Saido Berahino, has backed record club signing Brown Ideye to soon hit his the goal trail for the club.
Speaking to wba.co.uk following his improved first team showings, Berahino said he felt it was only a matter of time before Ideye hit the net and then continued to do so on a regular basis.
He said: “I was really surprised that he missed that chance on Saturday, because he puts those types of opportunities away in training.
“I feel for him because he has found it hard, but you can’t knock his effort and his drive to do well for the team.
“He hasn’t scored as many as he would have liked this season but he has to keep going.
“He is a strong character and I am sure that he will start scoring soon.”
With the 21-year-old bagging the only goal of the game, and taking his tally to six goals in three games since the turn of 2015, Berahino was obviously pleased with his current scoring run again, especially after going 11 games without finding the net ahead of the West Ham match on New Year’s Day.
He added: “That’s what happens with strikers.
“Once one goes in, you can’t stop scoring.
“I have just got to enjoy the moment and try to keep scoring goals for Albion.”
