Brown Ideye’s recent form could help save West Bromwich Albion – but it couldn’t save him from a parking fine.
The Baggies star revealed via his Twitter account on Monday how he had been caught out by a traffic warden while stopping for coffee.
But despite being recognised by the attendant and posing for photos, any hopes the striker may have had of dodging a fine were dashed… after he was still slapped with a ticket!
The parking ‘own goal’ caps off an unfortunate few days for Ideye.
The club record signing missed Albion’s trip to Manchester City on Saturday after suffering a knee injury which has also forced him to pull out of the Nigeria squad for international friendlies against Uganda and South Africa this week.
Ideye has netted five goals in his last eight appearances for Albion, including the winner against Stoke earlier in March.
