West Bromwich Albion boss, Alan Irvine, says he is hopeful that record signing Brown Ideye will be fit to play against Liverpool this weekend.
Ideye got off the mark for the club in the Capital One Cup win over Hull last week, but injured his ankle in the process.
He has still yet to return to full training, but Irvine remains optimistic ahead of the trip to Anfield.
“Brown didn’t train yesterday but he is making progress, he is improving,” the Scot said. “I am hoping he has a shout for Liverpool. He has rocked his ankle, it isn’t too bad.
“He hasn’t badly damaged his ligaments, he hasn’t broken his ankle, there’s nothing major going on there. He has rocked his ankle – their defender landed on his standing foot as he scored the goal.”
