The International Association of Athletics Federations on Thursday said it has ratified three recent world records.
Two of the records were set by Kenya’s Mary Keitany in London on April 23, while the third one was by Sweden’s Armand Duplantis in February, in the world under-20 indoors.
According to a report on its website, IAAF ratified the women’s 30 kilometres record of one minute 36.05 seconds set by Keitany on the way to winning the marathon race.
Keitany, in setting the new record, had broken the previous one of 1:39:11 which she also set in London on April 17, 2011.
She went on in that same marathon race to set a record of 2:17:01 in the women’s marathon, breaking the 2:17:42 record set by Paula Radcliffe of Great Britain.
Also, Duplantis set a world under-20 indoor record in the men’s pole vault event when he jumped 5.75 metres at New York on February 11.
It came days after he jumped 5.72 at the Baton Rouge on February 4
His effort surpassed that of Raphael Holzdeppe of Germany who recorded 5.68 on March 1, 2008 in Halle, Germany.
